To whom it may concern
I have known Joanna Kuzdak since 2008 when she was CEO of Bankier, acquired by Allegro from the Warsaw Stock Exchange, and I was COO, Europe of Allegro’s shareholder Naspers. Although I didn’t work with her directly at that time, I was impressed by her management style and results. Joanna went on to run Allegro units PayU and Agito as CEO.
When in 2013 I became Chief Digital Officer of Ringier Axel Springer, the largest digital publisher in CEE with a strong focus on Poland, I immediately approached Joanna about joining our group in some capacity. Joanna was occupied with a project at the time but we agreed to stay in close contact. In late 2014 we re-structured our Polish business to combine related media brands under single ‚business owner’ leadership, an initiative I started in fact with Joanna in mind as the archetypal business owner, capable of delivering a winning plan with no excuses. Happily we were able to hire her to run our Business and Finance vertical and she reported to me as interim CEO of Onet and member of the Group Executive Board.
Joanna is one of the finest executives I have worked with in my career. She combines passion, entrepreneurialism, people-management skills, technical mastery of her subject matter and a highly engaging manner to deliver outstanding results. She shows true ownership and resilience in a corporate environment that can sometimes seem change-resistant and oppositional. She is able to effect real change and deliver profitable growth, steering our business very ably towards a bright future. As the media industry faces very real existential threats and huge turmoil, Joanna is the perfect person to have in charge of any high-risk/high-return opportunity.
I trust Joanna 100% and would consider it a privilege to work with her again
